Irritating People in your Workplace

Sorry for not posting for quite sometime in this place because I was very preoccupied recently with some event planning. Now, allow me to share thoughts from my Bible reading.

Are there people who irritate you in your workplace? The gossips and those who are only working when the boss is around, or those who feels like he/she is the boss, those who are always negative and irrate but unfortunately affecting the entire staff performance, or those who feel like they know everything and those who feel like your work place is a vacation-getaway!

You just wish they disappear from the surface of the earth but they seemed to be immortal and eternal and to make matters worst they are influencing the saints, like you! Bad of all bad, no amount of calling the attention of the HR officers no action is done!

Here’s a story Jesus told to give you some thoughts to ponder (Matthew 13: 24-30):

There is…”a farmer who planted good seed in the field. But that night…his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat…When the crop began to grow and produce grain, the weeds also grew.

“The…workers went to him and said, ‘Sir, the field where you planted good seed is full of weeds!…’

“‘Should we pull the weeds?’ They asked.

“‘No,’ he replied, ‘you’ll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters to sort out the weeds, tie them into bundles, and burn them, and to put the wheat in the barn.”

Lessons:

Our workplace is one of life laboratories where we can practice the virtues we learned. If there are no places and people like the ones mentioned above, we will not be able to exercise patience and the like attitudes.
Many times we only think of our concerns and our seemingly right solution to these concerns, we do not see the big picture and the bad consequences our thoughts may affect the affairs of our entire company.
God is more concern with the development of your character than eliminating those things, bad it may seem, that will contribute to your growth as a person.

I hope this thoughts will give you new perspective as you deal with your irritating colleagues!

How to be Healed from Life’s Sicknesses (according to John 5)

Bible Story:
…Jesus returned to Jerusalem…Inside the city…was the pool of Bethesda, with 5 covered porches. Crowds of sick people – blind, lame, or paralyze – lay on the porches. (1-3)

One…had been sick for 38 years. When Jesus saw him…he asked…”Would you like to get well?” (5,6)

“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool…” (7)

Jesus told him, “Stand up…pick up your mat, and walk!” (8)

Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up his sleeping mat and began walking! (9a)

Afterward Jesus…told him, “Now you are well; so stop sinning , or something even worse may happen to you.” (14)

Insights to live by:
This time you maybe blinded with a lot of life sickness (problems) that maybe existing for many years. It maybe relational, emotional & financial sickness. And you feel like you are paralyze, you cannot move on with life because it seems like whatever you think of doing is wrong!

You may feel you are alone, but remember that many of us are together ‘in being alone’ in problematic situations. Also remember that Jesus is there with you! He is checking out if you really would like to get well because many times even if you are uncomfortable with your situation you don’t know how to live a problem-free & sick-free life already.

Like the paralyze man, most of the times, we depend on our fellow human beings to solve our problems. We think if the person who offended us apologizes, then we will feel better. We think if someone will be generous to lend us some money, to help us go through the financial difficulty, things will be better. We think if we can work abroad then, our problems will be solved, etc. etc. Then if no human intervention comes we get desperate with our miserable life and wallow in the depression. We forget that God is more powerful than any of the humanly and earthly solutions!

Depend on God and He will tell you, in an inaudible voice, a seemingly impossible thing to do but JUST DO IT! Walk if you may! Work if you may! Help someone if you may! Approach a person if you may! And forgive if you may!

If Jesus tells you so IT WILL HAPPEN FOR GOOD…JUST TRUST HIM AND FOLLOW HIM!

A BIG REMINDER THOUGH: Learn from the wrong things you did which caused the problems or the sickness you have had and never do it again. Or you will be caught in a worst situation!
