Reasons why we work, Part 1: God’s Plan

A regular person spends 40% of his waking hours working, that is around 8 hours, though many people work hard more than that!

How do you feel if one of your parents, sibling or your spouse don’t work? Or say, you lost your job and you cannot find another one for an extended period of time? Most probably you feel very uncomfortable and useless!

We work for many reasons, one of which is, it sustains our family’s needs and pays off our bills. It also allows us to buy things we wanted, even our mga luho (vanities). But working goes beyond those reasons. One best reason for working is…

IT IS GOD’S PLAN!

God wanted us to be like Him, in fact the Bible says “He created us after His image!” One clear picture image that it (the Bible) presents is – He is a hard working God! So, if we want to be like Him let us learn to work, not just work, but work well! In fact the Bible says “whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might!”

If we are not working, we are not God-like…on the contrary we are Satan-like.

If work is God’s plan let us not be under-work-performer but let us all be EXCELLENT WORKERS!

Next post’s preview: working prevents us from…???  It is the 2nd reason for work!
